  Victor Wick Stick Cap End.JPG - VICTOR WICK STICK - Very rare patented brass and copper miner’s wick lamp, lamp is soldered to a 3/16 in. dia. steel wire lamp stick with a pointed shaft and curved hook, 12 1/2 in. long with 3 in. hook, 1 1/4 in. dia. and 5 3/4 in. long brass reservoir with screw cap at one end, wick holder at mid length of the reservoir with two copper heating rods on either side of wick, heating rods are extended into the reservoir interior and encircle the inner wall at the wick tube and then each rod is extended to and encircle opposite ends of the inner reservoir, lamp is intended for paraffin, lard oil and similar fuels that require heat to melt them before use, patented by Frank A. Smith of Victor, CO as No. 814,241 issued Mar. 6, 1906 (filed April 20, 1905) and No. 862,027 issued July 30, 1907 (filed June 23, 1906).  The 1906 patent was assigned one-third to George W. Thomas and one-third to Henry Buckley, both of Victor.  The 4 known examples, including one in the Western Museum of Mining and Industry in Colorado Springs, follow the 1907 patent wick tube and heating rod arrangement.
